When we welcomed our first child, we didn’t know that we were also going to be entering the world of navigating living a gluten-free life. After what seemed like an endless number of visits to medical practitioners, our first child was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Oesophagitis (or EoE). When our second child arrived, we quickly knew they too had EoE.
As anyone with allergies and sensitivities to food and environmental allergens is aware it is an abrupt learning curve navigating what causes reactions.
For us, we were learning about EoE and what this meant for our children and family, as well as navigating the availability of safe and nourishing food options in our local area.
We spent hours searching the stores of Bunbury and southwest WA to find suitable gluten-free foods. It was time consuming and emotionally taxing. This is when we had a lightbulb moment, and the idea of Zero-G Gluten-Free was born.
We found that we could find gluten-free options, but they didn’t tick all the boxes for us. We wanted food that was nourishing, delicious and provided enjoyment at each meal.
This is central to our vision and mission for Zero-G. Going beyond convenience to create a community and sanctuary for families and individuals living gluten-free.
We have done the hard yards to source products that are locally made or from Australian suppliers that get the tick of approval from our family.
